Tea: It’s Not Just for Breakfast Anymore
Tea continues it rise in popularity for not only its health benefits, but for its new found flexibility with different foods. While it matches up well with many entrees and desserts, people do not realize that it is extremely easy to pair up with your cheese course as well. From the newly popular white teas to the more traditional black teas, there is a cheese that goes with it perfectly.
Green Tea is very low in tannins and requires that it be matched with something mild. Asiago Pressato is the perfect match. Make sure you get the right version of Asiago as it is also available in a more aged version that is dry and crumbly. Tea Shows Its Healing Powers with Babies and Colic
Chamomile tea has long been known as a soothing tea, but many may not know exactly what it soothes or why it works so well. According to studies, Chamomile eases intestinal spasms which would make it the perfect home remedy for babies that are suffering from Colic. As the cost is extremely affordable, it is as least worth the effort to try it.
Anahad O’Connor (The New York Times) wrote a great piece back in August about this very subject. He cites a study by the American Academy of Pediatrics that was done in 2007 that performed a study on children that were two to eight weeks old and were suffering from Colic. With no ill effects, over 50% of the children that were afflicted showed signs of improvement. This was a 100% improvement over the control group. That is pretty impressive no matter how you look at it.
With all of the positive press that tea continues to get for the wonders of green tea and the anti-oxidants that are present in various forms of tea, you seriously have to consider making tea a part of your regular diet if you have not already. There are plenty of adults that are walking around with stomach problems that could probably benefit from a daily dose of Chamomile just as a colicky baby would.
Sometimes the simplest of cures are right in front of our face and we don’t even realize it. Tea has qualities that have been known to many different cultures for many years, but this side of the pond is just starting to figure them out. We would all be well served to get tea into our diets in some form each and every day so that we can enjoy its benefits and live a healthier life.

Red Bull or Iced Tea for That Afternoon Pick Me Up?
Afternoons can be a little tough at work sometimes as the day never seems like it is going to end. That 3pm meeting can sometimes be a bit more than you can take and getting through it will take a small miracle. Falling asleep in the middle of the boss’ speech is never a good idea, but before you reach for that Red Bull, think about grabbing a glass of iced tea instead.
Anyone that has had an energy drink knows the good and the bad of them. They kick in right away and get you through the next hour or so, but when that crash comes, it comes hard. Now imagine having that crash hit when you are in rush hour traffic and jammed up from bumper to bumper. Keeping those eyes open is going to be no easy task when that sugar rush starts to wear off.

What Is The Best Way To Store Tea For Freshness?
There is nothing more disappointing than to look forward to a cup of tea only to find that the leaves have gone stale and what you were so looking forward to only moments ago has now turned into a disappointing experience. If you are not storing your tea properly, you are basically wasting your money on that fancy brew that you love so much.
Tea leaves have the ability to pick up other flavors. That being the case, you are going to want to make sure that you keep your tea away from things that could have an effect on the flavor of it. Not having it exposed to air, moisture and other odors is extremely important if you want to preserve its true flavor.
When you are buying large quantities of tea, you are really going to have to be careful. If you are not using it up quickly, you risk the bulk amounts going bad. There are things that you can do to stop this from happening though. You will first want to look at how you are buying your tea.
If the tea comes in sealed quantities, you should be okay to use it in small portions. If all of the tea is in the same bag, you will need to separate it and only keep out a small amount. If you have a vacuum sealer, you may want to take the large amount and preserve it and then take the smaller quantity and put it in a tin for use over the next week or so.
