Here’s an interesting video (http://www.youtube.com/v/q4PRcA9VaSE&hl=en_US&fs=1&) of an ad for NATCO Spiced Tea. It features a couple in their late twenties or early thirties sitting at a table in what appears to be an Indian teahouse. The dialogue is a bit hard to understand. It seems to be partly in English and partly in whatever language is native to the characters. Even though you can’t understand very single word, however, it’s easy to follow what’s going on. The couple gets more than a pleasant hot beverage from their cups of tea.

Just in case you’re not familiar with NATCO, they’re a company specializing in foods from India. They sell a wide variety of foods including spices, curry mixes, oils, Chutney, and almost anything else a person would need to prepare Indian cuisine. Amongst the many products they sell is the spiced tea in the ad.

This spiced tea is what we in the US usually refer to as “chai”, but in many Asian countries, “chai” is the word for tea. In India, what we know as chai is called masala chai, a black tea blended with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, ginger, and black pepper.

In the video, we see the couple seated at a table. A server pours plain hot water into two teacups. The man seems to be confused by this, but the woman signals him to be silent. She then sneaks a box of NATCO Spiced Tea out of her purse. She drops one teabag into each cup and the man takes a sip.

It soon becomes apparent that the tea isn’t the only thing that’s spiced up. After his first sip of the tea, the man leans towards the woman and kisses her on the neck. Throughout the video, we see glimpses of an older woman at the next table. Her eyes widen when she sees what happens with the young couple. Watch the video to see what she does next.
