Well it is as long as it is consumed the right way. Don’t get me wrong, coffee can be a problem, but that is more in how people drink it than anything else. With all of the negative press that coffee has receives at times, we figured it was time that we shed some light on some of the healthier aspects of our precious little brew.

Green tea seems to get all the glory, but coffee has also been proven to be effective in combating type 2 diabetes. It has also been proven to help prevent things like gallstones, Parkinson’s disease and colon cancer. Of course, we all know the benefits that are associated with the consumption of coffee for endurance athletes. You think Lance won 7 TDF’s on water alone?

Finally, a Book on Hawaiian Coffee That Gives True Insight on Their Wonderful Blends

Some of the Hawaiian blends of coffee are absolutely incredible, but until now I have not read a book that tells the story as well as “The Hawaii Coffee Book .” Written by Shawn Steiman, this is a truly revealing look at the history of the area in regards to coffee and a breakdown of the area, region by region, for complete flavor profiles.

While all of that information alone is worth the price of the book, it also features some absolutely incredible recipes that work coffee into the cooking method. For those of us that can never get enough of that wonderful coffee flavor, your taste buds will be moist with envy as you turn the pages. While you can naturally assume that some chocolate desserts will go well with a coffee infusion, working our favorite beverage into things like ‘Ahi Tuna and Lamb may have never crossed your mind.

Sometimes Coffee Just Makes Your Day Better

We have all had those days, just one miserable thing happens after the next. Have you ever noticed that those days tend to happen when you are running a little late and you don’t have the time for that all important first cup of coffee? You didn’t have time to make it and you don’t even have time to run into Dunkin’ Donuts real quick. The day starts off bad and just gets worse.

Well, the only way to stop the slide is to get that cup of coffee in you and get everything back to normal. Instead of continuing this horrible chain of events, take the time to step back and get everything back under control. Is it the cup of coffee that is going to make everything better? Not technically, but it sure isn’t going to hurt.
