How Far would you Go for a Good Cup of Coffee?
Sometimes it can be extremely difficult to find a place to have a good cup of coffee. That may seem absurd to people who live in urban or even suburban areas, but it is true. There are areas where you might be able to find some bad or even mediocre coffee at a coffee shop. However, good coffee can at times involve a lengthy car trip if you happen to be in the wrong place.
For example, there are times when taking a long road trip requires traveling through rural or even uninhabited areas. You can drive for hours without seeing so much as a roadside diner, let alone a decent place for coffee. You can carry your own coffee, but in time, it either gets cold or runs out. You simply have to endure until you reach the next town with a place to buy more.
If you love good coffee but also love to camp in wilderness areas, that presents its own set of problems. You can pack coffee beans and a battery-operated grinder and even your drip cone and filters. However, that is a lot of bulk and extra weight if you plan to hike to your campsite. Furthermore, many places you cannot have a campfire and cordless kettles are too big and heavy for backpacking.
Even in the city, you can have a hard time finding good coffee under some circumstances. How difficult it is depends on what part of the city you happen to live in. Some areas of the city do not have a coffee bar or other facility in the neighborhood. It can be difficult even to buy ground coffee in some areas because the local stores only sell instant.
It seems that if you want really good coffee, you sometimes have to go a long way to find it. With luck, it is just a short drive or bus ride away or you have the patience to endure. Even a long drive is not so bad when you remember some cultures have little or any coffee available. Just be glad coffee is not a spaceship journey away as it is in this video.
