Review: Bogart’s Coffee House, Seal Beach, California
The most spectacular thing about Bogart’s Coffee House is the view of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island. Based near the foot of the Seal Beach Pier, Bogart’s is a convenient place for beach enthusiasts. It provides a comfortable spot to take a break and get something to eat and drink. Even people who do not go near the water will find it a great place to sit and watch.
Customers will find ample comfortable seating either at the tables or on the sofa and armchairs. They can also choose to drink their beverages on the benches in front to enjoy the ocean view. Inside, the twelve-foot high ceilings have decorative wooden beams and ceiling fans with blades shaped like flower petals. Picture windows at the front of the shop fill the room with light and provide an open feeling.
Bogart’s has its own coffee brand made from organic beans roasted daily in small batches at their nearby plant. According to Bogart’s, the coffee beans are literally still warm from the oven when delivered each morning. Their house coffee, Bogart’s Blend, consists of a dark French roast of Central and South America organic coffees. They then blend this coffee with exotic Indonesia organic coffees for a rich, full-bodied flavor.
Bogart’s sells their Bogart’s Blend, espresso, and decaffeinated coffee by the bag in either whole bean or ground form. They also sell a line of very interesting loose teas blended exclusively for Bogart’s Coffee House. Allure, for instance, is a loose white tea scented with essence of tangerine and shizandra berries. Butterfly Wings is a blend of Earl Grey tea with the uncommon twist of added rose petals.
Bogart’s also accommodates numerous events that many of their customers find both educational and entertaining. They host a monthly philosophical gathering. a book discussion group, astronomy parties and occasional musical entertainment. Schedules vary, so it is wise for interested parties to keep an eye on Bogart’s event calendar. Bogart’s Coffee House is located at 905 Ocean Ave., Seal Beach, California.
